Thorp Wedding Photography-McKayla + Justin

Happy 1 month anniversary to Justin and McKayla! We wish them many more months and years of happy marriage to come!!

Now we have to share some wedding photos!! McKayla and Justin had such a great wedding day, as we were packing our bags and heading out I was nervous as it was rainy, but thank goodness the clouds parted and the sun came out. There wasn’t a lack of emotion from tears to laughs to smiles so big your cheeks hurt! The reception took place at the Munson Bridge Winery, what a perfect backdrop for photos, and a celebration. The band Home Grown Tomatoes kept the dance floor full, and you will notice a rainbow also made a grand appearance in their wedding day! You couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We hope you enjoy their photos.

1. What was the most memorable moment of your day?

McKayla: I know everyone says it was the “best day ever” but it truly was for us. Two memories (sorry, I know you said one…) that really stick in my mind are 1) Justin and I took just a few minutes to ourselves and walked to the other side of the pond to take everything in. It was such an overwhelming and amazing feeling being able to watch everyone having fun and realizing that all of our favorite people were there – under one roof for us. 2) My Grandpa is 93 years old and suffers from Dementia. Lately, it has been getting noticeably worse but thankfully he was able to make it to our ceremony. He used to play guitar and sing for our church when I was younger and I would sit in the choir loft with my mom and him. He doesn’t remember much these days, but I had a special song played for him during the mass. When the song started to play, Grandpa perked up and started singing right along with the singer. It made my heart so happy to know I had my Grandpa back for those few minutes.

Justin: The most memorable moment had to be seeing so much of the Zoromski family come from all over the state to celebrate with us and when McKayla danced with my Grandpa.  Also it was great to see how full the dance floor was ALL NIGHT long!

2. Any advice for future bride/grooms?

McKayla:I would definitely recommend taking a minute or two to yourselves to sneak away just to reflect and take everything in that day.

Justin: Take a moment at some point during your reception to take a step back and take it all in.

3. Funniest memory from your wedding day?

McKayla: All of us girls got our hair and makeup done at the salon together in the morning. One of my bridesmaids, Jenni, had just finished getting her makeup done and got out of the makeup chair. As soon as she got out of the chair she said, “I feel like I’m going to get emotional…” and then proceeded to cry the majority of her eye makeup off. She had to take a walk to the end of the driveway to calm down and not make everyone else cry, too.

Justin: When everyone circled up on the dance floor and had a dance contest.

4. If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

McKayla:I really don’t think I would change a thing!

Justin: Only the assigned seating, it was hard when some people moved seats and others couldn’t make the meal. It left people alone and with half full tables.

5. Where did you go on your honeymoon?

McKayla: We will be going to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in November!

Justin:We took a two days and went to Stillwater before we went back to reality.

6. How did you and your husband meet? How long have you been together?

McKayla: Justin and I went to school together and I was friends with his younger sister. Justin and I didn’t really start talking until my Freshman year in high school when I needed some help with my math homework – we had the same study hall. One day I said I’d never been on a snowmobile ride and asked him to take me on one and the rest is history.

Justin: Eight years last February.
