Wedding season is BACK! And now the blog won’t be so quiet. We took some time off of blogging this winter to enjoy more family time. But I’m back and excited to share Addy and Matt’s wedding day at the Rothschild Pavilion. Addy and Matt are such a fun loving couple that the first time I met them, I knew I had to photograph their wedding day. We had a blast last summer photographing their engagement photos and their wedding did not disappoint. We spent the day laughing with this couple and their wedding party and then I won’t lie I shed a tear during their heartfelt ceremony. It was a perfect day with such perfect touches, including their loves of beer!! Enjoy our first blog post of the year!!
1. What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Addy: Our choreographed first dance. Neither of us know how to dance (unless the song tells us what to do), so the first dance was something out of our comfort zone. We were both really nervous, and in the moment I literally just “forgot” what the next move was. I said something like “I don’t know where we are at” and Matt’s response was “Don’t worry – I got you.” And he totally rocked it! And everyone really enjoyed the homebrewed beer. That was great!
Matt: When I saw Addy walking down the aisle – There were just so many emotions. Happy to see my wife walking down the aisle, but sad when I looked down and saw Gil’s (bride’s father) picture and I wished he could be there with us.
2. Any advice for future bride/grooms?
Addy: Don’t waste your worries stressing over every little detail. Just trust the vendors you chose and enjoy your day. You’re going to end up married either way!
Matt: Be patient and don’t rush – Plan and prioritize little by little so you don’t have so much to do at the end.
3. Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Addy:Overall, the Jenga game during dinner. From Walker Texas Ranger theme, Chris Farley impression, selfies, stories… – it was funny!
Matt: During the best man speech when the Jenga tower knocked over!
4. If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Addy: Don’t overbuy – We bought too much liquor. And we are beer drinkers.
Matt: With having our wedding at the Pavilion, there is so much you need to bring in and do yourself. Better organization of everything you need and who is doing what.
5. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We will be going to Alaska soon – Camping in Denali, taking a train down to Kenai and staying in a cabin – We aren’t beach people.
6. How did you and your husband meet? How long have you been together?
Addy: We met playing volleyball (I won) – about 6 years ago.
